This Week: The Wii!

Club Information

The Bemani Music Club is one of the many active clubs in North Canyon High School. Our primary focus is to combine the entertaining aspect of video games and the creative enjoyment of music. During club meetings, we engage in multi-player musical gaming experiences playing Konami's line of Bemani music games. For more information on the Bemani series, see What is Bemani?

The Bemani Club will not be meeting this week due to the shortened school week allocated for Thanksgiving. We will return next week though! As far as official progress, we are still working on getting the club official, the office is sure taking their time!

Guitar Game (GuitarFreaks - Guitar Hero)
Monday, October 30, 2006
Charles Magahern

Many people have been asking me when we were going to bring in a guitar game, more specifically, the game "Guitar Hero". Well, I have one Guitar Hero controller and I own the game, however, because of our schedule, it would be best if I brought GuitarFreaks, the Japanese version, instead. This is because the songs in Guitar Hero are far too long--approximately 3-4 minutes in length. If I were to bring in Guitar Hero, we wouldn't be able to allow everyone to play, especially since I only have one controller. GuitarFreaks is just as good (better, in my opinion) and the songs are shorter and I think you will all enjoy this game as well. Also, for those of you that may own a Guitar Hero controller, it would be great if you could bring that in for the club next meeting. Once we get Fundraisers going we can buy an additional controller for each game so we can allow more people to play at once.

Attention all members. We're still looking for donations to our club. We are still looking into fundraising activities to help us purchase Guitar Hero II so we can bring it to the club. Any items purchased by the club will be auctioned at the end of the school year. Thanks!

Sorry to all of those who wished to attend last week's meeting. Our sponsor, Mrs. Davis had an important meeting she had to attend. No worries, we are on track for next week's SuperNOVA meeting. For more information about DDR SuperNOVA, glance over to the right side of the front page.

First (real) meeting

James Magahern

We just had our first (real) meeting, we played Beatmania IIDX. Sorry if you missed it, we had a great time. Beatmania is probably the hardest Bemani game out there, many people did very poorly! But not to worry, at the end of the year, all members should be professionals. I promise, the other games are much easier. We were surprised how many people actually did well too. Thanks for coming everyone!

We are now up and running! Unfortunately, we still have not recieved notice of our official existance among the administration, and NCTV has not identified us. However, we had our first meeting, and it had a large turnout. For those of you that were unavailable at lunch, you missed our initial presentation. Charles, James, and Jeff gave a stunning presentation of all the interesting aspects of the Bemani line. After the Keynote, we showed a video of Japanese players playing a variety of Bemani games, very cool. We also announced our staff, the results were:

Ian Rios................................................Secretary
Neerav Kothari......................................Treasurer
Alex Paonessa.......................................Head of Office Domestic Correlation
Joey Mazza...........................................Official Mascot

Congratulations to the people above.
Also, thanks to Mrs. Jean Davis for sponsoring our club!
